Who's Who In The New 52 : New Guardians

From the pages of GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #0…

First Appearance:
Green Lantern: New Guardians #1 (2011)

Base of Operations:
Across the Galaxy

Members:
Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern)
Arkillo (Yellow Lantern)
Saint Walker (Blue Lantern)
Fatality (Star Sapphire)
Munk (Indigo Lantern)
Bleez (Red Lantern)
Glomulus (Orange Light Construct)

History:
No other event has impacted the galaxy in recent years as the War of Light that brought all the different color corps that harness the power of the emotional spectrum of light. With these different groups now operating in the open, many were concerned that the use of so much power would throw off the balance of the universe. While this matter was debated, Green Lantern Kyle Rayner of Earth was approached by rings from each of the other Corps and forced to wear them. This event brought other Lanterns looking for their missing rings right to Kyle, and the inevitable conflict ensued. With matters between them temporarily sorted, Kyle and these other Lanterns took off on a mission to discover what caused the rings to find Kyle in the first place. These “New Guardians” teamed together for some time, coming into conflict with the Weaponer, the Archangel Invictus and ultimately The Orange Lantern Larfleeze. Recently, the New Guardians discovered that Larfleeze’s slave and former Guardian of the Universe, Sayd, was responsible for the power rings that deserted their users to find Kyle. Sayd knew the power that the united corps could represent and had hoped they would be able to oppose the machinations of the Guardians of the Universe and free her beloved Ganthet. The New Guardians disbanded upon learning this news, leaving the task of uniting the Corps solely to Kyle.

Who's Who In The New 52: Green Lantern Corps

From the pages of GREEN LANTERN CORPS #0…

First Appearance:
Green Lantern Corps #1

Base of Operations:
The Planet Oa

Powers:
The Green Lantern power ring is the most powerful weapon in the universe. Drawing from the strength of the user’s willpower, the ring creates hard light constructs in any form the ring-bearer can think of. The power ring also gives the user the power of flight, an energy protection shield and access to records and data while on duty.

Key Members:
Sinestro, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Arisia, Kilowog, Salaak, Isamot Kol, Maroin, Hannu, Brik

History:
The Guardians of the Universe are one of the oldest and wisest races in known history. Realizing that the universe needed order and protection, they created the Green Lantern Corps. Armed with power rings that allow them to control the green light of willpower, the Green Lantern Corps has become one of the most powerful entities in existence. There are currently 7,200 Green Lanterns patrolling the 3,600 charted sectors of space (two Lanterns per sector), with more being added as the universe is explored further.

The Green Lantern Corps is stationed on the planet Oa at the center of the universe. On Oa they have a training program, living quarters, Sciencell prisons, the revered Book of Oa, the Guardians themselves and the Central Power Battery. The Lanterns have needed these resources as they’ve been put to the test against the greatest evils in the universe, including an all-out war with the dead Black Lanterns and the unstoppable Third Army.

The Green Lantern Corps oath is as follows: “In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might beware my power... Green Lantern’s Light!”

Earth 2 Green Lantern Alan Scott By Joe Prado

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Are Married

It's been nearly a year since they were first publicly linked – and now Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are husband and wife.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that the couple tied the knot Sunday night at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston.

The reception took place in a white tent at the plantation on Sunday evening. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of the Gossip Girl star, performed three songs live, and there was also a deejay who spun tunes. PEOPLE also confirmed that a cake was being driven down from Virginia for the event.

Lively's mother and sister were also spotted in town, and a source told PEOPLE that the two had dinner in Charleston with Bette Midler earlier in the weekend.

Reps for the two actors had no comment.

Lively and Reynolds have been in nesting mode since buying a home in Bedford, N.Y., earlier this year. They have subsequently been seen working out together at a local gym, as well as spending quality time with their families in New York and Vancouver, where Reynolds, PEOPLE's 2010 Sexiest Man Alive, was born.

The two, who costarred together in 2011's Green Lantern, have stayed relatively mum about their relationship, though Lively, 25, did tell Marie Claire this summer, "It's definitely attractive when a man can dress well."

Reynolds, 35, was previously married to Scarlett Johansson. The couple divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage.

This is the first marriage for Lively, who previously dated her Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley.
